Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Cleaningly Home Services Pty Ltd (ABN 67 651 940 797) (“Cleaningly”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Who we are

Cleaningly provides commercial cleaning services and related technology and communications. Our website is operated for Australian customers and visitors. If you engage us from outside Australia, we will still treat your information in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

What personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details — name, business name, phone number, email address, postal or site address.
  • Enquiry and service information — messages you send, service preferences, building or tenancy details you choose to provide, and records of communications with us.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, browser type, device type, general location (such as city or region), pages viewed, and time spent on pages, where our systems or analytics tools collect that information in accordance with your cookie choices.
  • Recruitment or partner-related information — if you apply to work with us or join a partner program, we may collect additional details you submit through forms or interviews.

We do not ask you to send us sensitive information (such as health information) through general website forms unless we have clearly explained why it is needed and how we will protect it. Please contact us directly for secure handling of sensitive matters.

How we collect personal information

We usually collect personal information:

  • directly from you when you complete forms on our website, email us, call us, or meet with us;
  • from your organisation where you interact with us in a business capacity;
  • through service providers that help us operate our business (for example hosting, email delivery, or analytics where you have consented); and
  • from publicly available sources where reasonable for our business purposes.

Where we collect personal information that the Privacy Act requires to be notified at collection, we aim to provide a collection notice (including purpose and consequences if you do not provide the information) at or before the time of collection.

Why we use and disclose personal information

We use and disclose personal information for purposes that include:

  • responding to enquiries and providing cleaning services and related support;
  • administering accounts, proposals, trials, inspections and contracts;
  • operating, securing and improving our website, systems and customer experience;
  • sending service-related communications and, where permitted, marketing (see below);
  • complying with law, court orders, and government or regulatory requests; and
  • protecting our lawful interests, including fraud prevention and dispute resolution.

If we use or disclose personal information for a purpose that is not reasonably expected, we will collect consent where the Privacy Act requires it, or otherwise rely on a permitted exception under the APPs.

Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose personal information to:

  • contractors and suppliers who assist us (for example IT hosting, email delivery, or payment services);
  • professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, where required;
  • your authorised representatives; and
  • law enforcement or regulators when required or authorised by law.

For example, when you submit a contact or trial form, your details may be processed through our technology providers (such as Supabase for secure server-side functions) and email delivery services (such as Mailgun) solely to deliver and manage that communication. We require service providers to handle information consistently with Australian privacy expectations and our contractual terms.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process data in countries outside Australia (including the United States or European Union). Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it in accordance with the APPs, such as contractual protections or reliance on an APP exception.

Direct marketing

We may send you marketing communications about our services where permitted by law, including where you would reasonably expect to receive them or where you have opted in. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time using the unsubscribe facility in those messages or by contacting us using the details below. We will honour your request promptly.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies. Some are essential for security and basic functionality. Where we use analytics or marketing tools (for example Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Meta Pixel), we will ask for your consent before loading those non-essential tools, except where they are strictly required for a service you have requested.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through our cookie preferences controls on the site. Blocking some cookies may affect how certain features work.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we hold. No online transmission is completely secure; you should also protect your devices and account credentials.

Access and correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity. In some cases we may refuse access where permitted by law; if so, we will explain our reasons.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Visit oaic.gov.au for more information.

Data breaches

Where we are required to do so under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, we will assess eligible data breaches and notify affected individuals and the OAIC in accordance with the Privacy Act.

Children

Our website and services are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental or guardian involvement. If you believe we have collected information from a child in error, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example via our website or email where we have your contact details).
